Zoomarine is a theme park located in Torvaianica, approximately 35 kilometres south of Rome. You’ll find traditional fairground rides, as well as a large water park area open during the summer season, where you can cool off from the hot sun and have fun with water games and slides for the whole family. The offering is completed by an extensive section dedicated to animals. Furthermore, Zoomarine hosts numerous areas for shows and events, featuring both live actors and stunt performers, as well as animals, particularly dolphins, seals, parrots and birds of prey.
Opened in 2005, Zoomarine spreads across approximately 40 hectares. There are also educational activities to enjoy with the park’s expert educators, whilst throughout the various pathways you’ll find green spaces, refreshment facilities and shops.
Zoomarine represents the perfect break during a holiday in Rome, a burst of entertainment and relaxation for the whole family. The park has multiple facets: it’s a combination of a theme park, a water park and a zoo, making it ideal for spending a different kind of day.
From the entrance located in Piazza Allegria, the park is divided into three large areas: the animal area, the attractions and the water zone, identified respectively by green, orange and blue colours.

Located on the northern side of the park, there are 8 animal areas:

Zoomarine park boasts many exciting attractions; here are the most important ones.

Open only in summer, this area makes Zoomarine one of Italy’s largest water parks.
It’s possible to purchase admission tickets to Zoomarine at the box office or online. We naturally recommend advance purchase by selecting your access date, to avoid queues at the entrance. Online payment can be made by credit card, prepaid card or bank transfer, whilst on-site you can pay in cash or with debit card and card.
Discounts are available for children with a height between 100 cm and 130 cm, and for those over 65 years old. Tickets purchased online are non-refundable and are valid only for the indicated date.
However, during online ticket purchase it’s possible to add the date change option, to enter the park on a different date from the one chosen during purchase. To access, it will be sufficient to show the expired ticket and the date change ticket at the box office. The date change service can be purchased online, only together with park admission tickets. If not purchased at the same time, it will not be possible to use the ticket on a date different from the one chosen at purchase.
The admission ticket includes demonstrations with animals and trainers of dolphins, seals and sea lions, tropical birds and parrots, mechanical rides, and the swimming pool and water park area during the summer season.
To deepen your knowledge of the animals, you can purchase one of the educational programmes offered by the park. Admission is limited and allows entry to the animal area only for small scheduled groups.
Zoomarine’s calendar is rather complex, and opening times vary depending on the time of year. As a general rule, the park is open every day from mid-June to mid-September, whilst in the other months of the year it’s open only on weekends, holidays or bank holidays. It remains closed on Christmas Day.
During the months of July and August, opening hours run from 10:00 to 19:00, whilst during the rest of the year the park closes at 17:00 or 18:00 depending on the season. Opening is always set for 10:00 except for a few exceptions.
On 31 October, Halloween, Zoomarine opens exceptionally from 14:00 to 22:00.
Events and activities are organised at Zoomarine for the whole family. In February for example, you can take part in the carnival, with animal demonstrations, attractions, surprises, pranks and shows, whilst in March Women’s Day and Father’s Day are celebrated.
Often Zoomarine’s events also see the participation of national and international guests, and many of them are dedicated to social inclusion projects. Usually participating in an event at Zoomarine costs extra; admission must be booked in advance on the website and places are limited.
Furthermore, in October Zoomarine is decorated with an Halloween theme, and offers fun activities for the whole family as well as some Horror Houses for ages 14 and up only. Finally, in December and January, the park is decorated for Christmas and Epiphany, with themed activities on offer.
